Hony, BNP Among First 25 Companies In Shanghai Free Trade Zone

Shanghai’s free trade zone is officially launched, setting up a testing ground for financial and economic reforms in the world’s second largest economy.

The first batch of 25 companies settled in the free trade zone include many financial institutions such as Hony Capital (Shanghai) Co., Shanghai International Trade Co., Steinweg (China) Investment Co., Haibu Rex International Trade Co., BNP Trading (Shanghai) Co., SW Inv Investment Co., Hua Mirae Asset Management (Shanghai) Co. and China Pacific Property Insurance Co.

Chinese banks including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Banking are also included.

Two foreign banks, Citibank and DBS Bank are listed as well.
