CNEI Invests $25M In Shanghai Fudan-Zhuangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical

China-focused private equity firm China New Enterprise Investment (CNEI) has invested US$25.4 million in Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical, according to media reports.

Founded in 1996, Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical listed on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) in 2002.

It wasn’t clear how many new shares CNEI obtained from this investment.

CNEI reportedly invested over US$20 million in Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical earlier this year.

According to an earnings report by Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical, CNEI owned 131 million domestic shares of the company, or about 24% of its total domestic shares as of June 31, 2013.

If considering both domestic and H shares, CNEI owned 14.8% of Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical.
