KKR & Co. says it has appointed Matthew Chang as managing director for KKR Capstone in China. He will be based in Beijing.
KKR Capstone works in partnership with KKR’s private equity team to help improve the operations of KKR’s portfolio companies. KKR Capstone also leads the implementation of KKR’s sustainability initiatives such as responsible sourcing, which helps portfolio companies manage their environmental impact while improving their businesses.
Previously, Matthew Chang was global senior partners leading Roland Berger Strategy Consultants’ (RBSC) Asian operations and restructuring practices in Shanghai.
During his three years at RBSC, he served as lead partner for five domestic and international private equity accounts, covering due diligence, post-deal improvement work, and deal screenings, primarily in the healthcare and consumer goods industries.
Before that, Chang was China managing director at turnaround consulting firm AlixPartners, Asia strategy director at alcoholic beverages company Diageo. He also worked at consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
