KPCB And MTK Inject $10M Series A+ In HiWiFi


Beijing-based Internet technology company HiWiFi has received US$10 million series A+ financing from KPCB and Taiwanese semi-conductor producer MTK, according to a company announcement.

HiWiFi previously received tens of millions U.S. dollars series A financing from GGV Capital and Innovation Works.

The proceeds will be used on improving HiWiFi’s technologies, as well as building up its smart router infrastructure.

Founded in March 2013, HiWiFi is the largest smart router producer in terms of market share. But it also faces increasing competition, including new entrants including TP-Link, Tenda, Xiaomi, Baidu and Qihoo 360.
