China’s AI industry reached RMB303.1 billion in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 15%
"China Internet Development Report (2021)" was released today at the China Internet Conference. The report shows that the scale of China’s artificial intelligence industry has reached RMB303.1 billion in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 15%, and the growth rate is slightly higher than the global growth rate. There are 1,454 AI companies in China, second only to the United States, which has 2,257 AI companies. These AI companies are mainly based in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang and other provinces. Among them, Beijing and Shanghai are the top two cities with 537 and 296 respectively.
