Baidu unveils three new robotaxi models

Baidu’s first “Apollo Day” was held yesterday in Beijing Shougang Park. Three mass-produced robotaxi models — Apollo Moon Arcfox, Apollo Moon WM Motor and Apollo Moon Aion –made their debuts. The Apollo Moon robotaxi models utilize a leading navigation pilot product that can reduce the weight of autonomous vehicle kits while sharing intelligent driving vehicle data to create a closed-loop information ecosystem, according to Baidu.

Meituan builds a special team focusing on retail technology

Chinese group-buying service giant Meituan recently builds a special group to focus on retail-related businesses. The team members include Meituan’s founder and CEO Wang Xing, Senior Vice President Wang Puzhong, Senior Vice President Chen Liang and others. Meituan has upgraded its strategy from "Food+Platform" to "Retail+Technology", bringing retail technology to a strategic height for the first time.

Hozon Auto secures RMB4 billion series D1 round of financing

Chinese pure electric smart car developer Hozon Auto has secured a RMB4 billion series D1 round, led by Qihoo 360, with participation from CCB International, CITIC Securities, GF Venture Capital, Shenwan Hongyuan Group and others. In addition, Hozon Auto’s next round of financing has also started and will be completed soon.

SoftBank Vision Fund leads US$312 million series D round in smart retail solution provider Huice

SoftBank Vision Fund 2 has led a US$312 million series D round in Chinese integrated smart retail solution provider Huice (formerly known as Wangdiantong). CITIC PE and existing investors GL Ventures, GIC and Legend Capital also participated. With proceeds of the new round, Huice will continue to focus on "retail intelligence"-strengthen capacities in e-commerce network synergy and data intelligence, and improve the integration of cross-border businesses.
