SINGAPORE, Aug. 27, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Dymax has recently launched new optical adhesives with variable refractive index for optical components used in optical telecommunication, commercial optics and consumer electronics manufacturing. The refractive indices of 1.72 or more, 1.40 or less based on the requirements of viscosity and other properties.
Conventional adhesive produces adverse effects such as noise because their refractive index is different from optical fiber nor optical components. Therefore, the ideal product for optical telecommunication applications should be optical stable with high optical transmittance to keep low signal lost. The light transparency of Dymax new optical adhesives is higher than 95% (at 70µm thickness). In the meanwhile, it has good adhesion to metal, PI (polymide) and glass which is also applicable for sensor and optical communication applications.
Dymax adhesive is formulated to cure rapidly upon exposure to UV light at room temperature and no mixing required. Dymax also has products available via heat cure in order to meet production conditions of manufacturers. The optical adhesive offers superior moisture-resistance performance. The bondline is hardly affected by ambient moisture.
