Eight Roads Ventures, formerly Fidelity Growth Partners, has appointed Joe Chang as a partner in its China ventures team focusing on enterprise technology, consumer IT, fintech and services investments, the company announced in an statement.
Chang, based in Shanghai and starts with immediate effect, joins Eight Roads from SoftBank China Venture Capital where he was a partner.
Before that, he was head of corporate development at Cisco Greater China. Prior to Cisco, Joe held various senior sales and general management roles in Microsoft China, having spent the first 10 years of his career in consulting in China and the U.S., first with Coopers & Lybrand, then McKinsey & Co.

Joe’s arrival is the latest in a series of global recruits to the growing Eight Roads Ventures team.
Michael Treskow from Accel and Rohit Krishnan from McKinsey & Co. recently joined the European Ventures team in London as partner and vice-president respectively.
Originally from the U.S., Joe graduated with an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, and an M.Eng. and B.Sc., Industrial Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University.
Eight Roads is the proprietary investment arm of Fidelity International Ltd., and has backed successful tech firms including Alibaba, Mtime, Hile, Wuxi Pharmatech, Innovent, DeltaHealth Hospital, CloudByte.
