Genbridge Capital, founded by former members from the mergers and acquisitions division at JD.com Inc., is seeking to raise US$500 million for a maiden venture capital fund to invest in Chinese start-ups, according to a securities filing.
Bin Chang, Sidney Huang, Hui Li and Xinzhao Zhang are the listed persons related to the new vehicle.
Bin Chang, a Peking University graduate, is vice president of strategy and investment at JD.com from September 2013 to present, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before that, he was a vice president at Chinese private equity firm Capital Today from 2006 to 2013. It’s unclear if he has left JD.com to start the new fund.
Genbridge Capital’s website is currently under construction, and no further details can be learned about its strategy or operations.
