Ejoy Technology, an online game developer co-founded by NetEase’s former chief operating office Zhan Zhonghui, has secured nearly RMB100 million ($16.22 million) series A funding from IDG Capital Partners, according to local media reports.
The company says it will use the proceeds to do research and development of a 3D multiplayer game.
Founded in 2011, Ejoy Techonology has previously launched Kuangren, a 2.5D full keyboard fighting game.
Zhan Zhonghui joined NetEase in 1999 and started working at the online gaming department of NetEase in 2001. In 2006, he was named joint COO and became COO in 2009. He left NetEase in 2011 to found Ejoy Technology.
Founded in 1992, IDG Capital has offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
