Global private equity real estate funds raised a total of US$18 billion through 31 fund closings in the third quarter.
It pushes up the total funds raised during the first three quarters this year by private equity real estate funds to US$45 billion, up 21% compared to the same period last year, according to research firm Preqin.
The largest fund to close in the third quarter was Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners, which raised US$4.4 billion.
Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies II was the second largest fund to close, raising a total of US$3.5 billion.
About 81% of the capital raised was by funds targeting on real estate in North America. About US$3.4 billion was raised by funds focusing on Europe.
