Palo Alto, California-headquartered law firm Cooley has appointed Lee Pang as a partner in its global private investment funds group in its Shanghai office, according to Cooley’s announcement.
Prior to joining Cooley, Lee was counsel in the asset management group of Shearman & Sterling‘s Hong Kong office, focusing on the formation and operation of various private investment funds, including venture capital funds, buy-out funds and special situations funds.
"Since opening our Shanghai office in 2011, Cooley’s Asia fund formation practice has nearly doubled in terms of the volume of deals it handles," says Craig Dauchy, chairman of the firm’s global venture capital practice.
Lee received the Bachelor degree in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Jurum Doctor Degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
In 2014, Cooley has organized more than US$1.6 billion of Asia-based venture capital and private equity funds, and more than US$30 billion in Asia-based funds since 1989.
The company serves more than 250 investment funds globally.
