U.S. private equity giant KKR & Co. L.P. has reorganized its senior management team in Asia to better streamline its investment activities in the region, appointing David Liu and Ming Lu as co-heads of Asia private equity, according to confirmation provided by KKR representatives.
David Liu and Ming Lu previously heads KKR’s China and Southeast Asia investments, respectively. Both will report to Joe Bae, who will remain as head of KKR Asia.
KKR’s Australia head, Justin Reizes, will now also support the expansion of the firm’s energy and resources investments across Asia.
Sanjay Nayar, head of India, will add responsibilities of managing the firm’s credit and capital markets offerings in Asia.
Scott Bookmyer, currently Asia head of KKR Capstone, a unit that works with KKR portfolio companies on operational improvements, is appointed as chief operating officer in Asia.
