China’s HSBC Flash PMI Slightly Up To 50.4 In Oct

The HSBC flash China Manufacturing Index (PMI) edged up to three-month high of 50.4 in October, slightly up from 50.2 final reading in September, in line with market estimates.

The flash China Manufacturing Output Index fell to 50.7, its five-month low.

Domestic as well as external demand showed some signs of slowing, although both remained in expansion territory, according to HSBC’s readings on the data.

"The better than expected China third quarter GDP and HSBC flash PMI data this week should help allay growth concerns," says Asian currency FX strategist Chan HuiYing in an ANZ report.
