Edmond de Rothschild Appoints Li Weiwei To Head Chinese Equities

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management has appointed Li Weiwei as head of Chinese equities, based in Hong Kong, according to an emailed statement.

She replaces Hu Xing, who left the group in March to explore new professional opportunities.

Li Weiwei will report to Thomas Gerhardt, head of emerging equities and commodities.

"With the gradual opening up of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets and China’s position as the second largest market in the world in terms of market capitalization, our Chinese equities team will focus more than ever on rolling out Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management’s expertise in Asia," says Philippe Uzan, chief investment offer of long-only management at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (France).
