Chinese consumer price index in June rose 2.7%, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The key economic parameter came in higher than market expectation of 2.5%.
Food prices rose 4.9%, contributing 1.59% to the overall CPI number.
Specifically, meat and poultry prices were up 4.8%, contributing 0.34% to the overall CPI increase. Non-food prices rose less, up 1.6%.
For the first six months, CPI rose 2.4% compared to the same period last year.
