Beijing-based Android-based ROM (Read-Only Memory) developer Smartisan OS has raised RMB70 million ($11.5 million) in series A round of financing, disclosed by Smartisan CEO Luo Yonghao on his Weibo account.
Buttonwood Capital led the round, investing RMB40 million. The rest came from other undisclosed investors.
The investment is valuing Smartisan at RMB470 million ($77.4 million).
Smartisan received seed funding from Tang Yan, founder of dating app Momo.
Founded in 2012, Smartisan released Smartizan OS and planned to roll out its own smartphone in the first half of next year.
